Carly Darnell

DAYTON, OHIO

From Dayton, OH, Carly began dancing at the age of three. She received her pre-professional training and mentoring from Barbara Pontecorvo and Gregory Robinson at Pontecorvo Ballet Studios and Gem City Ballet (GCB). There, she performed principal and soloist roles in The Nutcracker, Giselle, Don Quixote, and more. In the summers, Carly has trained with Ballet Chicago, School of American Ballet, and Ballet Austin. From 2022 to 2024, Carly was a fellow in Ballet Austin’s Butler Fellowship Program. There, she performed in Stephen Mills’ The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, and George Balanchine’s Serenade. Since joining Alabama Ballet, Carly has performed in a number of works including Christopher Staurt’s Peter Pan and Under The Lights. She is thrilled to return to the stage for her second season with Alabama Ballet.
