Georgia Byrd

FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA

As a Fairhope, Alabama native, Georgia Byrd began her formal ballet training under the direction of Janet Carole, of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, where she fell in love with ballet. She spent her summers training at Mobile Ballet, under the guidance of Katia Garza and Israel Rodriguez, both of the Orlando Ballet. After graduating from high school, Georgia continued her dance education at the University of Alabama Department of Theatre and Dance under the instruction of Qianping Guo, of the Pacific Northwest Ballet. Georgia graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from UA this May. While completing her Dance degree, Georgia concurrently trained and performed with Alabama Ballet, first in the Advanced Division of the School and then in the Professional Day Program. In this time, Georgia appeared in productions such as George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, Christopher Stuart’s The Sleeping Beauty, and Roger Vanfleteren’s Legacy in Motion. She is thrilled to be a part of the Alabama Ballet Studio Company’s inaugural season and the year of dancing ahead.
