Gabriel Roush

First Season
NORWOOD, NORTH CAROLINA

Originally from Norwood, North Carolina, Gabriel Roush began his dance training at his mother’s studio. In 2019, he was accepted into the high school classical ballet program at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA), where he trained extensively under an internationally recognized faculty. During his time at UNCSA, he performed a wide range of repertoire and further developed the artistry and versatility that continue to shape him as a dancer. He graduated in 2022.

Following graduation, Gabriel joined Charlotte Ballet as a Trainee, where he worked with renowned artists and coaches including Laszlo Berdo and Patricia McBride. During his time there, he performed in a variety of works, including George Balanchine’s Who Cares?, Alejandro Cerrudo’s Lickety Split, and the title role in Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux’s The Nutcracker.

Gabriel then spent two seasons with BalletMet as a member of BalletMet 2, performing in both classical and contemporary works, including Remi Wortmeyer’s Rite of Spring and La Bohème, David Nixon’s Dracula, Trey McIntyre’s Peter Pan, and Juanjo Arqués’ Ignite.

In addition to ballet, Gabriel has a strong background in tap dance, which continues to influence his musicality and approach to movement. While at BalletMet, he performed a featured tap piece as part of the BalletMet 2 Together We Dance interactive performances and also taught tap classes through BalletMet’s education programs.

Gabriel is excited to begin this next chapter with Alabama Ballet as a Company Dancer for the 2026–2027 season.
