Cody began dancing in his hometown of Los Alamos, New Mexico at Dance Arts Los Alamos with Cristin Severini and Jonathan Guise. He completed his final two years of high school at The HARID Conservatory’s year-round program, studying primarily with Meelis Pakri and graduated in 2017. He then attended Butler University where he earned a BA in Dance Pedagogy and a minor in Environmental Studies graduating with honors in 2021. While with Butler Ballet, Cody performed principal roles in The Nutcracker, and Marek Cholewa’s Facets, also dancing in Gerald Arpino’s Light Rain, and the world premiere of Patrick deBana’s Falling Sky. Throughout his training he spent summers with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Pacific Northwest Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and other schools around the country. After graduating, Cody joined the Alabama Ballet as an apprentice for the 21/22 season. Since joining, memorable performances include George Balanchine’s Western Symphony, Denis Nahat’s Blue Suede Shoes, and the Waistcoat Boy in Christopher Bruce’s Sergeant Early’s Dream.
