Audra Cockrell began her pre-professional training with Sarasota Ballet, dancing in several company productions including George Balanchine’s Stars and Stripes. While traning at The Royal Ballet School summer intensive in 2016, she received the Certificate of Achievement Award. Miss Cockrell then spent two years training at the Harid Conservatory and Next Generation Ballet before joining Pittsburgh Ballet Theater’s graduate program in 2018. While at PBT, Miss Cockrell performed in many company productions, notably Balanchine’s Divertimento No. 15. The following year she joined Grand Rapids Ballet as an apprentice under the direction of James Sofranko. In 2020, Miss Cockrell joined Alabama Ballet under the direction of Tracey Alvey. In her time with Alabama Ballet, Audra has been featured as the Dark Angel in George Balanchine’s Serenade and Prayer in Coppelia. She has also performed a featured role in Roger VanFleteren’s Shostakovich and originated a role in Alexsander Swader’s Those Who Change Us.
