The Day Program
Alabama Ballet Professional Track day Program
The Day Program is a conservatory-style professional division offering advanced technical and artistic training for dancers demonstrating serious commitment and readiness for an expanded daily schedule. As the first program of its kind in Alabama, it is designed for dancers with daytime flexibility and provides intensive morning and afternoon training while allowing evenings to remain available for other interests.
The 2026/2027 year program is divided into two levels, the Professional Division and Training Division with placement determined by technical proficiency, physical development, and artistic maturity. Training is rooted in classical ballet and supported by complementary disciplines essential to professional development. Daily studies include Ballet Technique, Pointe, 4 Pointe Method, Variations, Partnering, Contemporary, Conditioning, and Repertoire. Emphasis is placed on strength, alignment, coordination, musicality, stylistic awareness, and performance quality.
The program supports the transition from advanced student to emerging artist through a range of performance experiences, including community engagements, the Winter Workshop, the Alabama Ballet School Spring Performance, and optional competition opportunities. Students may also have the opportunity to work alongside Alabama Ballet in mainstage productions. Past performance opportunities with Alabama Ballet have included corps de ballet roles in George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty, providing students with valuable experience in large-scale classical productions within a professional environment.
