Sofia Johnson was raised in Palmetto, Florida, and began dancing at Diane Partington’s Studio of Classical Ballet. After graduating High School, Sofia was accepted into the University of North Carolina School of the Arts under the direction of Susan Jaffe, where she pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in classical ballet. Some of her performance highlights during her time at UNCSA include, Snow Queen and Dewdrop in Ilya Kozadayev’s The Nutcracker, and the Waltz Girl in George Balanchine’s Serenade. She began her professional career with Alabama Ballet in 2023 and is excited to return this season.
