Karen Licari

WETUMPKA, ALABAMA

Karen began her early dance training at Montgomery Ballet under Priscilla Crommelin-Ball and Elie Lazar, later becoming a company trainee at age sixteen under Darren McIntyre. While completing her B.A. in Communication and Theatre from Auburn University at Montgomery, Karen joined the Alabama Dance Theatre under Kitty Seale. At ADT, she performed feature roles including Lucy Westenra in Sara Sanford’s Dracula, Fairy Godmother in Sanford’s Cinderella, as well as Dew Drop Fairy and Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker Suite. Since joining Alabama Ballet in 2020, Karen has enjoyed performing in George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®, Roger VanFleteren’s Cinderella, Romeo and Juliet, Agnes de Mille’s Rodeo, Don Quixote, Coppélia, Giselle, and Balanchine’s Western Symphony.
