Isabella Kessler

HOUSTON, TEXAS

Isabella has family roots in Nicaragua, Puerto Rico and Canada but grew up in Houston, Texas and began her ballet training under ballet mistress Milena Leben, principal ballerina from Croatia. YAGP awarded Isabella a scholarship to the Bolshoi Ballet summer program in NY where she was then offered a spot to train at the Bolshoi Ballet academy in Russia. Isabella joined the Houston Ballet Academy Professional Division where she had the opportunity to be a part of many performances such as Stanton Welch’s Sylvia, The Nutcracker, and was chosen to play key roles in the performance of PlumShuga the Rise of Lauren Anderson. Isabella was then offered a position with Atlanta Ballet’s second company and was a member for 2 years. She had the opportunity to dance the lead role of Cinderella in Bruce Wells’ production of Cinderella and other key roles. She was cast as Young Marie in Yuri Possokhov’s The Nutcracker production and performed with the Atlanta Ballet’s company in various performances including La Sylphide and was also a part of the North American Premiere of Annabelle Lopez Ochoa’s full length ballet Coco Chanel, The life of a Fashion Icon. Isabella’s passion for ballet and performing drives her artistry. She is so thankful and excited to be starting her first season as an apprentice with Alabama Ballet. She looks forward to growing as an artist and working closely with the talented artistic staff here at Alabama Ballet under the direction of Mr. Christopher Stuart.
