Quinn Barrett

Spartanburg, South Carolina

Quinn Barrett began dancing at the age of five at Ballet Spartanburg under the direction of Carlos Agudello in Spartanburg, South Carolina. At the age of 15 Quinn began training more intensely at the South Carolina Governors School for the Arts and Humanities. Training mainly under Thomas Shoemaker and Miriam Mesa-Pelly, Quinn performed in Carmina Burana, Carmen, La Fille Mal Gardee, and The Nutcracker, as well as original choreography by Jennifer Archibald, Gerard Theoret, and Joseé Garant. After graduation, Quinn attended the University of Cincinnati, performing in Ballets by George Balanchine, Roger VanFleteran and Marius Petipa; portraying Lucien in Paquita, Solar in La Bayadere, and Blue Bird in The Sleeping Beauty. At the end of his Sophomore year, Quinn joined CB2, Cincinnati Ballet’s Second Company, portraying John Darling in Peter Pan, Russian, Grandpa, and more in The Nutcracker, and Song Fairy Cavalier in The Sleeping Beauty, as well as many ensemble roles in other company works, and CB2 outreach and children’s shows. Quinn is excited to begin his first season with Alabama Ballet.
