KENDIA BENNETT

Niagara Falls, New York

Kendia, a native of Niagara Falls, New York, received his early training from Miss Beverly Fletcher before being accepted to the Alabama School of Fine Arts (ASFA). While attending ASFA, Kendia studied under David Keener, Rafael Delgado, Mimi Twyman, Martha Faesi and Jamie Kilgore. Kendia has attended Virginia School of the Arts, Nashville Ballet and Alabama Ballet summer intensive programs. Kendia participated in Alabama Ballet’s spring 2012 Showcase in which he choreographed Beauty in Thanatos, choreographing many more pieces that have been performed by students of SUNY Purchase College such as “Off Balance” and “A Taste for Things to Come”. He was thrilled to accept the position of apprentice with Alabama Ballet from 2011-2013 but is honored to now be a company after studying dance at SUNY Purchase College for his BFA. Having performed works by George Balanchine, Taryn Russel, Norbert De La Cruz and many more Kendia is excited to be back in Birmingham to dance.
