Gillian, a native of Columbia, SC, started her dance training at the age of five. After graduating high school, Gillian moved to Carlisle, PA to train at the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet under Marcia Dale Weary. After three years she joined Nashville Ballet’s second company. In 2011 she became an apprentice with Alabama Ballet. In 2013 she was named a company member. She has enjoyed performing George Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante, Sir Frederick Ashton’s Les Patineurs, Agnes DeMille’s Rodeo and Fall River Legend, and Jiri Kylián’s Sechs Tänze. Some of her favorite roles include lead Marzipan in George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®, and Pikilo in Don Quixote.
